PennDJ PRO Infinity Member since 2012 I am no longer seeing my Itunes playlists in Virtual DJ Pro7 I had tried to move my Itunes Library to an external HD which worked fine for Itunes, but Virtual DJ was unable to find the playlists. I then moved it back to my music folder, but still virtual DJ. Sep 16, 2009 I've opened itunes and have added new music to my library BUT the iTunes Music Library.xml doesn't update (therefore my DJ program, Serato Scratch Live, doesn't show the newly added songs as well as new changes in my iTunes playlists). I've upgraded my itunes from 8 to 9, i've upgraded my serato scratch live from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1, the latest. Apr 08, 2016 We have a Sonos system throughout the house and I would like to play my iTunes playlists through it. The Sonos app lists Apple Music as a service that can be added, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add my iTunes playlists. Virtual DJ is no longer asking me if I want to import my iTunes playlist when I start up. I've added numerous playlists and made changes to others, and now can't access any of them on VDJ. Jun 11, 2015 Songs only add to database manually one at a time. Batch add to db does not work on all files. Someone at VDJ should've picked up on this and fixed it by now!
To fix this problem, use VirtualDJ to browse to the drive(s)/folder(s) where your music is located, right-click on them and choose Add to search DB.
Once you have done this, go to CONFIG -> Browser, choose each drive in turn where you have music stored and click on CHECK and then FIX.
You can remove the old redundant database entries by clicking on CLEAN.
If it is a song that you have never loaded before, then check that is not corrupted or an older DRM protected Apple iTunes file (.m4p) - These cannot be played in VirtualDJ or any other non-Apple application or device. You will need to upgrade these protected files to DRM-free iTunes Plus for a small fee per track (This can be done via iTunes.)
NOTE: To avoid this problem in future, make sure that you do not move or rename songs outside of VirtualDJ. Use the browser in VirtualDJ itself to perform these operations. This will ensure that the database is updated appropriately.
NOTE: Playlists and history files are not part of the VirtualDJ database and will not be updated if you move and/or rename files that are contained in them (Either within or outside of VirtualDJ.) You will need to manually edit the playlist to correct this problem. For registered licensed users of the full VirtualDJ Professional, there are user-made tools that can do this for you. These can be downloaded from our Tools page.
NOTE: M4p files such as .m4a that use newer codecs will not load in older versions of the software due to lack of support for these new codecs. If you are using an old version of VirtualDJ, you will need to upgrade to latest version to play these files. If your license does not entitle you to a free upgrade to the newest version, you will need to upgrade to the latest full VirtualDJ Pro.
